Even without makeup and no heels nor the power stilettos, the MQ2011 finalists braved the heat and humid air happily helping our less fortunate brothers and sisters for the Bantay Bata 163 Negros and ABS-CBN Bacolod at 888 China Town Square event center. They gave medicines, served food and assist in the dental mission last September 8, 2011.



The MQ2011 finalists have different assignments during the Medical/Dental Mission and feeding program and rotated shifts the whole morning. Like Alona and Rexie who are nursing students, they were able to get the change in getting the blood pressures of those who are waiting in the line for the medical check-up especially the elderly while Abegail and Kathleen are in-charge of giving the free medicines and vitamins. On the other hand, Nikki and Allysa are in-charge of the registration for those who wish to avail the free dental checkup. They also helped Ms. Caryl Diamante and Albert of Bantay Bata 163 Negros during the feeding program.




888 China Town Square



888 China Town Square is the "Divisoria" of Bacolod City. You can buy China goods, ready-to-wear clothes, shoes, accessories, cell phones and gadgets at a cheaper price. You can even haggle with the vendor for a lower price.



888 is very accessible. It is just right beside Land Bank of the Philippines, along Gatuslao Street, in front of the National Food Authority building.



If you opt to ride a jeep, you must take the Bata-Libertad route coming from the north of the Provincial Capitol Lagoon or take the Mandalagan-Libertad route when coming from the south to get to 888 Chinatown Square.




How to Get to Bacolod City:
From Manila, you can fly to Bacolod (Php2500++, round trip, 45 minutes). From Bacolod-Silay Airport, you can take a shuttle (Php75-100 per head), or a cab and ask to be dropped off at 888.
