Andres Bonifacio is one of the well loved heroes in the Philippines. He is the Supremo (supreme leader)of Katipunan, the movement that sought independence of the country from the Spanish rule and is fondly called the Father of the Philippine Revolution. In his short life, he left a lasting difference for the Filipinos and our history. Today, learning about Bonifacio doesn’t stop in history books but also through the places that are significant to him.
In commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Andres Bonifacio from November 30, 2012 to November 30, 2013, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and the Department of Tourism launched the Byaheng Bonifacio, Byaheng Bayani ng Bayan program that aims to encourage Filipinos, tourists and travelers to visit and discover more about the Supremo.
Sixteen sites are included in the Byaheng Bonifacio itinerary. From Bonifacio’s birthplace in Tondo, Manila, Pamitinan Cave in Rizal where secret initiation rites of the Katipunan were held, to Maragondon, Cavite where Andres and his brother Procorpio were executed, every site gives us a glimpse of the life of Gat Andres Bonifacio.
To make it more exciting, the NHCP and DOT are giving away Byaheng Bonifacio, Byaheng Bayani brochures where travelers can attach the photos of their visit in the 16 identified sites in the itinerary. The first 100 tourists who completed the tour will receive tokens and certificates.

Pinaglabanan Shrine, San Juan City, site of the siege of San Juan Del Monte.

Pasig Catholic Church and Valentin Cruz Marker, Pasig City
Imus Plaza, Imus, Cavite, where the meeting of the two councils (Magdiwang at Magdalo) took place.
Noveleta, Cavite, where Magdiwang was established.
Tejeros, Rosario, Cavite, site of the Tejeros Convention
Indang, Cavite
Casa Hacienda de Naic, Naic, Cavite
Trial house, Marogondon ,Cavite, site of the Bonifacio brothers’ trial
