It’s quite a trek up that hill so make sure you’re up for a bit of exercise. The view is so much worth the climb though!
2. SEE THE TARSIERS
Who can resist seeing these cute Yoda-like creatures? Tarsiers are already endangered species so you shouldn’t miss their sanctuary in Bohol.
Flash photography and loud noises aren’t allowed near these tiny primates since these things could give them a heart attack!
3. TAKE A CRUISE ALONG LOBOC RIVER
Imagine having a buffet lunch while being serenaded on a large boat cruising along this river:
Halfway through your lunch, you’ll make a quick stop to watch these kids sing and dance to Pinoy folk songs. If you’re lucky, they’ll even invite you over and teach you the tinikling!
This little kid was one of my favorite dancers though:
4. VISIT THE CHURCHES
As with most Philippine provinces like Ilocos, Bohol is also home to many beautiful old churches. This one is the Baclayon Church or the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, one of the oldest churches in the entire country!
5. EAT SEAFOOD
Bohol is pretty much surrounded by water so seafood is fresh and cheap here. There are plenty of restaurants cooking seafood dishes along Panglao Beach and what’s pretty cool is that you get to pick the actual fish, crab, shrimps, etc. and they’ll cook it right in front of you.
6. GO DOLPHIN-WATCHING
You’d have to wake up before 5 a.m. to be able to catch the dolphin-watching tour from Panglao. We didn’t think we’d actually be able to see a lot of dolphins when we went so we were pretty surprised to see a bunch of them swimming really close to our boat. Definitely something you should experience!
