Padre Burgos is considered by many to be one of the premier dive spots in the Philippines with pristine coral reefs, deep wall dives and an abundance and variety of big fish. Three dive operators in the area dive this site on a regular basis. Maximum depth is around 5 metres viz is always around 15 - 20 metres.



The prime diving area is the Tangkaan Point which contains three main diving sites: the Turtle Rock, Medicare and Heaven’s Gate.



At Turtle Rock, divers are greeted by big fishes, turtles and varied coral reefs. It has four large rock formations measuring 13 to 40 meters.  The site is teeming with green turtles, batfishes, sponges, groupers and black frog fishes.



Meanwhile,Heavens GAte and Medicare let divers into a maze of steep walls containing anemones, table and soft corals and large sponges. Medicare is said to be the best spot to catch a glimpse of the frogfish which is commonly difficult to find. Heaven’s Gate, on the other hand, is home to a number of mollusks noted for their extraordinary colors and striking forms.



Amidst the growing number of divers exploring the ecosystem hidden beneath the seas of Padre Burgos, the place a protected marine area. In fact, the local government has tied up with the Coral Cay Conservation, an international organization which specializes in coral reef and tropical forest conservation, to protect the place’s natural beauty.
