The Forest Lodge provides a stay that is near yet far enough experience to the traveler yearning for the Baguio experience- at a very reasonable cost.
With rooms starting at Php2,900.-- a night for a twin- sharing room, the Lodge is a haven for the budget-conscious yet travel savvy guest.
In travel terms, "budget" usually means you get what you pay for in terms of poor and mediocre accommodations. The Forest Lodge is working to change this perception.
Located right beside The Manor Hotel, the forest lodge provides a more cost- friendly alternative to it's more famous cousin at a fraction of the cost. Entering the massive lobby you would find it hard to believe this place is anything but "budget".
The rooms are easily spacious and the furnishings modern. The LCD tv has cable The bathroom is clean modern and has hot water more than you'll ever need. Toiletries and towels are also at hand.
The beds can easily fit two regular-sized persons. The pillows and sheets are clean. Outside there is a terrace that looks out to the pine forest and the mountains beyond.
The premises has a log cabin feel to it which is reinforced by the pine trees surrounding the premises.
Within walking distance are several restaurants, including the Le Chef at the neighboring The Manor hotel with its famous buffet offerings; a zipline ride; the Cemetery of Negativity and several trails.
With keeping the cost down, be reminded that the Forest Lodge does not have room service or food delivery. This however, is not a problem since there are several good restaurants in Camp John Hay where the lodge is located.
Being in the center of Camp John Hay, its tempting to just hang out in the room or just laze about the lobby after a nice walk among the trees and sampling the crisp mountain air. A taxi ride to Session Road is only about 80 pesos and spares you the stress of driving in the downtown traffic.
