There’s a playground in the skies where my mind can think endless thoughts, my body be that of a child again and my soul be at peace.
The whole place is a kaleidoscope of colors with hills of green dotted by bursts of yellow, red, orange, pink, violet, from flowers of different shapes and sizes. Blue skies are above you and a bluish green Mt. Apo peeks from clouds of white.
Sculptures made by Mindanao-based artist Kublai Ponce Millan of Lumad children playing, families having fun together, animals and goddesses and fairies make the place truly a playground in the sky.
In the middle of it all is the Agong House- so-called because of its shape. An agong is a wide-rimmed, heavy gong that produces a bass sound. Unlikely shape for a house but that’s what makes it unique. And what’s more interesting is that when you want to reach the view deck, you go up by stairs, and go down by slide.
There’s also a guitar house with a native guitar that serves as its center post. I was imagining how my dreams would be if I stay in the guitar or agong house when everything around you is so beautiful and restful.
Earth, sky and nature is praised and loved in this playground in the skies.
