Along Sayre Highway is Impasug-ong, Bukidnon’s Tourism Center which honors the Higaonon tribe. For those who are familiar with the tribe, the canopy of the giant dancing Higaonon women is a giant headdress.
The dancing women are wearing the tribe’s colors of red, black, yellow and white while waving white and red cloth.
Around it are statues of cowboys in different poses. Impasug-ong is considered to be home of the country’s finest cowboys thus the tribute while the Higaonon tribe are part of the many tribes living in Bukidnon. HIGA means living, GOAN means mountains and ONON means people. The HIGAONON tribe could literally mean people of the living mountains.
The Impasug-ong Tourism Center is a welcome stop-over for travelers to and from Cagayan de Oro City.
Coffee will be served for a fee at the Center in the next months.

HOW TO GET THERE:
Impasug-ong Tourism Center is located along Sayre Highway, an hour and a half land trip from Cagayan de Oro City.
From Davao City, it is 4 and a half hours land trip.
Buses coming from and to Davao pass by Impasug-ong on a daily basis.
