Samar province has its share of nature’s bounty. Among the nature’s charm that ensnare tourists and local individuals includes uncharted caves and mountains which are colonized with bizarre flora and fauna, perfect beaches surrounded by unblemished coral reefs, multi-colored flowers everywhere and waterfalls situated beside mountains. What more can I say? And as a dedicated resident of Basey, I am very pleased to divulge the magnificence of the Sohoton Cave.

Basey is a 45-minute ride by car from Tacloban City passing through the famous San Juanico Bridge or it can also be reached by a pump boat up a winding river passing through small villages, nipa palms on the banks and a motley parade of river crafts. Sohoton Cave can be reached by a pump boat from Basey. Upon approaching the cave, one will notice an absolute change in the scenery as river banks with splendid limestone walls and overhangs come into view. Praise nature for the beauty it brings to us. applaud yourself for witnessing another exquisiteness that natures brings to you.
