Tacloban City has a lot of historical places to visit. One of which is the Price Mansion. This building contributed a significant role in the history of the Republic of the Philippines.

It was built in 1910 by Walter Price. This was used by Gen. Douglas MacArthur as his headquarters during the World War II. It also became his official residence during his stay in the Philippines in 1944.

At present, the Price Mansion is known to be the College Assurance Plan (CAP) Tacloban Office. The company is responsible in preserving the historical landmark. The building stands on its original structure.

Aside from that, it also has the some memorabilia from Gen. MacArthur. A room for photo gallery is in it. Gen. MacArthur’s room is also preserved.

Moreover, a statue of Gen. MacArthur and Osemena is seen in front of the building. This is to remind us of how these two icons contributed during the Japanese invasion.
