When you visit a place you’ve never been before, there would always be something that will remind you about it such as the beautiful sceneries, delicious food which of course includes those uniquely sweet delicacies.
If you happen to visit Leyte, most often what you will remember is Suman, Moron and BInagol.
Binagol is a sweetened taro pudding with nuts that is notably made from Dagami, Leyte. This delicacy can usually be bought in the sidewalks of downtown Tacloban City but is distributed all throughout Samar and Leyte.
Many tourists and Balikbayans of Tacloban love Binagol and would buy it as pasalubong for their friends and loved ones.
Talyan- a root crop specie that looks like a giant gabi (taro) plant that is usually grown in Palapag N. Samar and Calbiga Samar. It costs around P100 per piece.
