Since its inception in 11-11-11 in Davao City to benefit the children of Bantay Bata 163 and the rehabilitation of the Matina Pangi River, the Kapamilyas have been running in Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Cebu and Tubod, Lanao del Norte for the benefit of Bantay Bata 163.
In Davao City, the journey to rehabilitating the Matina Pangi River and supporting Bantay Bata 163 of continues with the 2nd Kapamilya Run 12.02.12 Davao.
This year, the Kapamilya Run will have a 30K Fun Ride. It also takes into its fold, the House of Hope for children with cancer.
The 2nd Kapamilya Run 12.02.12 is a benefit run with a two-pronged mission: to support its beneficiaries (the river and the children) and promote the runners and riders health. Hearts are sure to be pumping as runners and riders go from the Abreeza Open Parking Lot, go around Abreeza, to Veloso St., in Obrero, Dacudao Avenue, del Pilar St., up the Agdao Flyover, Leon Garcia Avenue, Quezon Boulevard, Roxas Avenue, Ponciano, Crooked Road, San pedro, Legaspi, Qurino Avenue, Tionko, Father Selga, back to Torres, Loyola St. in Obrero, Dacudao, Veloso, Palm Village then back to Abreeza.
Registration fees are PhP300 for the 5K Run; PhP500 for the 10K and 15K categories. Registration fee includes singlet, race bib and certificate of completion. Only the first 100 finishers of the 15K run will get a finishers medal.
Registration fee for the 30K Fun Ride is PhP500 inclusive of race bib and a finisher’s shirt at the end of the ride.
Registration is ongoing at the ABS-CBN Station in Shrine Hills (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) and the old ABS-CBN Bantay Bata in Matina (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm), the Run Club in Obrero (Monday-Friday 2pm-6pm) and at the 2nd floor of Abreeza (beside Fudge Factory) from Monday to Friday, 4-7pm.
Gun start is at 5:20am for the 5K run, 10K run at 5:10am, 15K run at 5:00am. 30K Fun Ride gun start is at 6:30am.
All the necessary security measures will be in place to insure the runners’ safety.
