Christmas. It is said to be the happiest time of the year. Everyone from around the world is looking forward to this special day every year.

For children, it means toys and other gifts. It is a time of giving and love. That one day where people forget their problems and heartaches. Sadly, Christmas only happens every December 25.

In the Philippines however, it happens as early as September or October, making it a four month celebration of Jesus’ birth. You can already feel the Christmas air when you walk down the streets.

Filipinos start decorating their houses with beautifully colored lights. Christmas trees are showcased inside Filipino homes with every trinket imaginable covering the tree. Mistletoes are hung above every door and other decors are seen, making it quite a sight for passers-by.

Christmas songs are already heard on radios at the start of what we Filipinos fondly call the “ber” months (September- December), making you feel that Christmas is just around the corner.

Indeed, there is no other place in the world that celebrates Christmas like we Filipinos do, where every day is Christmas for us.
