We’ve known a lot of talented artists reigning in today’s generation. There are bands, folk singers, dancers, high-pitched divas; others are painters, writers, poets and many more.

Well, speaking of artist I know a group here in Tacloban City that we Taclobanons must be proud of. They are a product of Leyte Normal University and they call their group as Lightning Productions. Lightning Productions is composed of young talented individuals who started from a scratch.

Lightning Productions was formed when one of their professors in school decided to group their class into four.

Different personalities unite in one group? I guess others would utter it’s a disaster. Maybe a disaster in the beginning but as they go through the process of life it became the foundation of the group. The sayings unity is better than uniformity is true to this group.

Just recently a winning piece entitled Melissa which was produced by Lightning Productions won in Sinebata:Kabataang Pinoy Festival under the MTV category. Melissa is an original composition of the group which bag three awards.

About the music video entitled Melissa? It illustrates the life of a young lady who has a big dream and aims to change her life and the life of her family. But because of poverty she indulges in cyber sex which was on the later part was known and spread out. Because of too much depression she ended up committing suicides.

Furthermore, this was not the first time that this group bring home the beacon. Just this February, out of 19 contestants participated in the BIR Tax Infomercial Contest; Lightning Production got the first place. What a victory!

The prize is there, yes, but what other Taclobanons don’t know yet about this group is they make a big difference! Through the innovative of this group I believe they have already inspired thousands of youth not just in this region but all over the nation.
