Berniemack Arellano is a travel blogger hailing from the Visayas region.

He has been traveling around the Philippines since birth due to the nature of the work of his father. Berniemack has settled in Cebu for 3 years, then 12 years in Imus (Cavite), another 6 years in Iloilo, 1.5 years in Cebu and several months in Southern Mindanao.

Berniemack describes himself as a simple, boring guy. But, who would say that to a traveler, an explorer, sojourner and a wanderer that has been to many places in the country than most of us? He has been dreaming to follow the footsteps of famous travelers and adventurers: Ian Wright and Diego Buñuel.

Berniemack shares that the main reason why he like to blog about his experiences is to let Filipinos know about the beauty of our country, whatever culture or locale it would be. "I like to share my experience not to provoke envy or jealousy to those who haven't been there, but to encourage them to travel as well and appreciate it." He said.

"Traveling, for me, connotes freedom-just like flying-and enjoying life as it is." Berniemack added.

He also would like to promote the advocacy of cultural appreciation wherein most tourists take for granted. "In every locality, even in so-called ‘dangerous lands', there is much color and culture that one can understand. Also, one of which is heritage conservation/preservation, with main focus in Iloilo City, my hometown. This is to promote the greatness of Ilonggo culture and history, and letting people appreciate Iloilo's heritage, which in turn would become a catalyst of cultural and good urban planning."

Asked about the best places he would recommend in the Philippines... "Aside from my hometown (Iloilo), I fell in love with Davao and Soccsksargen regions. Much of it is still untapped and the diverse cultures make it very unique. I also feel home whenever I am here. Security is not a problem here as well." He answered.

Aside from Mindanao, he also recommends Ilokandia. Ilokandia for him is another must see for people who would like to experience the unique rustic ambiance of northern Philippines.

Traveling has thought him a lot of life's lessons and experiences. It has thought him also on how to deal with different people, how to face hard challenges, and to de-stress himself. "Charge it to experience." Berniemack said. It has opened up his mind the world, especially our country, has lot of things to take care of, appreciate and enjoy.

Berniemack also described what traveling has done for him by borrowing taglines from some cable channels: Be Curious because The World is Just Awesome. Let's Get Lost as we Make History Everyday. This is who I am.
