Born on March 11, 1945 in Iloilo City, Jose Mari Chan is a singer, songwriter and businessman. He graduated in Ateneo de Manila Universtiy in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. His wife's name is Mary Ann Ansaldo. They have 5 children: Jose Antonio, Elizabeth Ann, Michael Philip Ciprian, Francisco Rafael and Marie Angelica.
As a businessman of the sugar industry, he is the Chairman and CEO of BISCOM Inc. and A. Chan Sugar Corporation.
As a musician, he is the Chairman and President of Signature Music Inc. Jose Mari Chan continues to inspire singers and composers who are balladeers. His pseudonyms were "Joe Mari", "Mr. Music Man" and "the Filipino Jimmy Web".
