No ordinary musician, that’s how friends and relatives describe Victor Subido – who effortlessly create enchanting melodies using a carpenter’s saw.

Victor was in high school when he discovered his unique talent of creating music using a saw and a violins’ bow.

When playing his instrument, Victor says, proper coordination with his hands and legs is a must – as he would put the saw’s handle in between his legs, then his one hand bending it, and the other, sliding the violin bow. Then, he could produce music that mimics that of a violin.

According to him, it was his professor, Cerilo Hidalgo who thought him to play the saw – and he practiced for two years, until he eventually mastered the craft.

Victor is a missionary and he believes that his talent is God-given, with  a purpose of leading other to the love and grace of God.

Accompanied by piano or cd tape, Victor creates music that awes anyone who sees him play with his saw. He’s played for weddings, in churches and in different events in the province of La Union.
