Tahong or Mussels is a popular inexpensive seafood dish in the Philippines. Barring Red Tide, it can be cooked and eaten in a variety of ways from simple ginisa or adobo to baked tahong.
Ginisang Tahong or Sauteed Green Mussels is the easiest to prepare.
You only need a kilo of Tahong. Fry minced Garlic, sliced Onions and Ginger in a small amount of oil then add water. When its boiling, add the freshly washed tahong. Add a little ground pepper (black or white) if you want it a little spicy. Wait for the shells to open, then remove from fire.
