Tahong or Mussels is a popular inexpensive seafood dish in the Philippines.  Barring Red Tide, it can be cooked and eaten in a variety of ways from simple ginisa or adobo to baked tahong.

Ginisang Tahong or Sauteed Green Mussels is the easiest to prepare.

You only need a kilo of Tahong.  Fry minced Garlic, sliced Onions and Ginger in a small amount of oil then add water.  When its boiling, add the freshly washed tahong.  Add a little ground pepper (black or white) if you want it a little spicy.  Wait for the shells to open, then remove from fire.

Enjoy your Ginisang Tahong!
