Throughout the years, Camote Cue, Banana Cue, Toron, and Cassava balls, have always been the all-time favorite meryenda of Pinoys. The unique preparation done on sticks enhances the enticing delightful taste of these foods making it more fun and more exciting to enjoy with family and friends.
1. Camote cue or Camote fritter
Deep fried camote with caramelized brown sugar. Though served on a skewer, it is not cooked on the stick. The skewer is purely for easier handling as it is usually sold in the streets to passers-by.
2. Banana cue or Banana Q
Deep fried bananas coated in caramelized brown sugar. Banana cue is made from Saba bananas. It is usually skewered on a bamboo stick, and is sold on the streets.
3. Cassava balls
They are made from ground cassava. Like the above snack foods, cassava balls are also fried in oil and coated with caramel
4. Turon
It is a delicious snack food usually sold along with camote cue, banana cue, and cassava balls. It is also made from Saba bananas. It is wrapped in lumpia wrapper, deeply fried in oil, and coated with sugar or caramel.
