This 2013 is the 15th Bailes de Luces Festival, the famous festival of La Castellana, Neg. Occ.



"Bailes de Luces" which means "Dances of Lights" is a celebration of thanksgiving and hope. It is a suitable culmination of the Christmas season and a town's celebration of Charter Day every January 5.



It is a grand celebration of La Castellana's charter day. Bailes de Luces Festival is a celebration of thanksgiving for all the blessings received in the year that was and hope for a prosperous new year. Its highlights feature street dance competition, a mardigras of dances, costumes and floats. Its unique feature is the use of lights (or "luces") as props and adornment during its nocturnal festivities and street dancing.




How to Get There



La Castellana is approximately one-and-a-half hour drive from Bacolod City using public utility vehicles and about an hour by private car. It is 67.3 kilometers via San Enrique from Bacolod.



From Manila, you can fly to Bacolod (Php2500++, round trip, 45 minutes). From Bacolod-Silay Airport, you can take a shuttle (Php75-100 per head), or a cab and ask to be dropped off at the nearest bus station for Bacolod-La Castellana. Buses bound to La Castellana are available at the Bacolod South Terminal.
