Philippine Flow Fest will soon bring fire, art and world class performances at the Venice Piazza, Mckinley Hill in Taguig. This weekend, February 2, let us join in a celebration of lights, sounds, art and fire with the best performance artists from all over the globe.
This annual festival brings together fire and movement performers, art enthusiasts and flow artists from around the country. The festival is a celebration and a promotion of the arts through community celebration.
One of the highlights of the upcoming festival is the performance art, Poi. This style of art originated from the Maori people of New Zealand, and now, Filipinos are putting their own feel into it. Poi involves swinging bound weights through different rhythmical and geometric patterns. Poi fire dancing is the more popular art here in the country.
Poi is regarded as a multi faceted art form enjoyed worldwide. It is a great form of exercise, movement meditation and creative expression for people of all ages.
International Poi artists such as Thomas NEVISOUL Johansson from Sweden and Justina Flash from the USA will grace the event and perform before the crowd.
The Philippine Flow Fest will start from 10am-2am with day events such as: Flow Arts Workshops, Exhibitions such as Shadow art and Beatbox, live art, film screening and live bands. For the night time events: Performances from various artists, fire/LED performances, belly dancing, live bands and DJs to supplement the party vibe.
