Giant Belen or the Nativity are positioned in the heart of Sariaya, Quezon for the annual Belen Festival. This year’s theme is “Sariaya, Bayang Kaaya-aya. Pasko’y Maligaya. Pamilya’y Nagkakaisa” where thirteen life-sized Belen competes for the title of the Best Belen.



Among the criteria are 1. The Belen should consist of the main characters such Mary, Joseph, the child Jesus Christ, the Three Kings, a shepherd, a lamb, and an angel. 2. Indigenous materials should be used. 3. The nativity should be inside a make-shift cave.



A set of panel judges the Belens. The winners will be announced on the 23rd of December where the first price will win Php50,000, second price is Php30,000, third price is Php20,000 and consolation price of Php3,000 to all those who joined. The Belens will be available for the public to see until the 6th of January, Three Kings Day.
