Lapu- Lapu city located in the island of Mactan is considered as one of the most developed and first class cities in Cebu.

The city celebrates the annual fiesta of its patroness Nuestra Señora Virgen de la Regla (Lady of Rule) and commonly known as Birhen sa Regla, on Nov. 20 and 21.

It is considered as one of the grandest fiesta celebration in the country as there are numerous activities at the different locations in the city. Every night offers an array of fun and excitement through the nightly entertainment shows. The activities stared with a tourism night on Nov. 15, 2012 followed by Government Employees Night, DepEd Night, Jam Ta Bai (Season 7)Nite and Air Force Night.

November 21 is the Coronation Night of Mrs. Lapu-Lapu City 2012 and the Coronation of Prince and Princesses.

November 24, Saturday, will be the Awarding Ceremonies for the Sports event winners and the Garbo sa Lapu-Lapu.

The patron Saint, Nuestra Senora is being toured around Mactan Island in a yacht for the purpose of worship and prayer. Devotees from different places expressed their gratitude for the blessings received, some wrote personal intentions others sought the intercession of the Lady of the Rule while a handful of women prayed that they bear a child.

Many believed that like the developing and growing  ecomomy of Lapu-lapu city, faithful women who wish to bear a child can also grow a child of their own though the intercession of Nuestra Senora.

Through the different activities and events, Cebuanos give homage and acclaim to the Lapu-Lapu’s patron Saint at the same time celebrates the founding of Lapu-Lapu city.
