Dumaguete City is all set for their fiesta in honor of patron St. Catalina de Alejandria, the patroness saint of Philosophers. It will celebrate the Sandurot Festival and the 64th Charter Day of the City for the month of November.
Sandurot means "fellowship and reaching out." The festival events welcome the diverse cultural influences that enrich the city's character.
It is an annual commemoration to Dumaguete City's tradition since the pre-Hispanic period. It is the convergence of foreign (Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, etc.) peoples and the adaptation of diverse cultures into her shores. The people of Dumaguete are known to welcome strangers coming from different places and around the world up to now. This is the innate trait of Dumagueteños celebrated by the Sandurot Festival.
