Buglasan Street Dance
The showdown was held at the Lamberto Macias Complex in Dumaguete City, Saturday, October 20.
Pakol Festival of Sta. Catalina town is still the Buglasan Festival of Festivals champion this 2012.
The Pakol Festival portrayed a playful monkey munching on a banana or "pakol" variety. The group also won special awards such as Best in Street Dancing, Best in Choreography contingent and Best in Identification Arch. The group coming from Sta. Catalina brought home Php100,000 cash prize as champion and additional of Php20,000 for best in street dancing and Php5,000 each for other special awards.
The first runner-up represented by Barangay Bunao was The Sandurot Festival. The group won Php70,000 cash prize. They also won Best in Corps Contingent with an additional cash prize of Php5,000.
Second runner-up came from Bayawan City, the Tawo-Tawo Festival, won Php50,000 cash prize and an additional Php5,000 for Best in Costume.
Buglasan Festival Floats
Sipong Festival of Bais City won the Best Buglasan Festival Float 2012 special awards. The group also won Most Artistic contingent.
First runner-up went to Palaran Festival of Bonawon, Siaton.
Second runner-up was Hambabalud Festival of Jimalalud. The group also won the Most Indigenous contingent.
Buglasan King and Queen
Buglasan King went to John Elmar Ortega of Dumaguete City who was also declared the best speaker. The Buglasan Queen was awarded to Aleja Jehan Villasol of Siaton.
The first runner-ups went to Russel Ramirez of Tanjay who also won best in costume; and Fe Mabelle Cadungog Tano of Sta. Catalina.
Second runner-ups were Mark Jade Anthony Rivera of Pakol who also won as best performer; and Girlie Ann Bocanegra of Bais City and was also declared best speaker.
Other special awards went to: Jay Ann Vidal of Jimalalud won best in costume. Mary Angelique Banogon of Dumaguete won best performer. And, Bayawan City won best in entourage.
