Echague is called the "Queen Town of the South" in Isabela, being the oldest town in the said province.
It is where the unique minority of Yogads found. Unique- because it is the origin of the rare dialect/minority. The Bacao Festival was founded by the late former mayor Leoncio K. Kiat. His spouse Dr. Melinda G. Kiat is the current mayor of the town garnering the majority of Echagueno's vote last 2010 election.
The Bacao Festival is really a pride of the Yogads. The highlights are the magnificent float parade, strret dancing and drum and kyre competition, the mutya ng Echague, the barangay night, the ofw night, motorcross, and miss gay. The the Yogads to say: "Gnira Castam Echague Iddeducam Mica!"
