Sinadya sa Halaran
As the official song of Roxas City says "Dali diri sa Roxas City" (Come here in Roxas City) many local and foreign tourist flock in the capital city of Capiz every Sinadya sa Halaran.
Sinadya sa Halaran is the premier festival of Roxas City and Capiz as well. Sinadya sa Halaran which literally means joy in sharing and thanksgiving is celebrated every first weekend of December in line with the feast of the Immaculate Concepcion.
In the opening night of the festival, people came to see the traditional fluvial parade in Panay River which is followed by fireworks display.
Roxas City is known to be the seafood capital of the Philippines. Thus, the seafood festival showcases how blessed the city is, in terms of seafood.
Also showcased is the Mutya sang Sinadya sa Halaran, street dancing with the higantes and the parade of Capiz festivals.
How to Get There:
From Manila, you can fly to Roxas (estimated cost Php2000++, round trip, no checked bags, 1 hour and 5 minutes). Domestic airlines have a daily direct flight from Manila to Roxas everyday and vice versa.
Ferries like Negros Navigation and Morrieta Shipping lines got trips every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. You can also have a side-trip to Boracay which is only a 4-hour bus ride from Roxas city.
