Kalivungan is a Menuvu term for "gathering" and so Cotabato Province's one million people gather for this year's Kalivungan Festival and the 97th Founding Anniversary of the province.
Locals and tourists will be treated to a week-long celebration.
Remaining activities from today, August 31, 2011 are the Lumba Sa Pulangi River, Himig, Sayaw at Musikahan and Awards Day.
On September 1, 2011 the Culmination day, various local and visitor dance groups will compete for the Kalivungan Street Dancing and Showdown at the Provincial Complex in Amas, Kidapawan City.
Guests will be treated to a Kumbira Sa Kapitolyo at 12noon.
