The Race
This first Siargao Adventure Race is more than a RACE, it is an ADVENTURE! This is a one-day racing of various disciplines such as off-road/trail running, trekking & rappelling.

The race aims to promote Santa Monica as an alternative tourist destination in Siargao Island. It also aims to develop responsible ethics among outdoor enthusiasts, and cultivate a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Conservation of the coastal environment is given emphasis through a unified effort of coastal clean-up and mangrove planting.

The race will take the competitors to the different tourist spots of the town. They will enjoy the scenic view of the town, passing through its coastal areas, mangrove forest, hills, caves and white sand beaches. The race will start from the town's port area and end at Alegria White Beach, which is approximately 30 kilometers.

Teams of two persons each without support crews are expected to carry all their equipment with them. They are subjected to extreme physical and mental conditions. Teams are required to navigate through a series of sequential control points using a combination of compass bearing and distance, triangulations, coordinates, riddles and puzzles using a map with a very different set of scale. In this race, endurance is essential and rock-solid navigational capability is fundamental.

Who can join the race?
Anyone who has a team of two --- either Filipino or non-Filipino citizen, male or female not less than 14 years of age, not a resident of Santa Monica in Siargao Island --- can compete in the race. Participants less than 18 years old shall submit parents or guardian's consent to the Secretariat upon registration. However, the organizer can only accommodate a maximum of 100 teams.

Race Prizes
Winners will receive a total prize money of Php100,000 plus trophies and non-winning participants who clock-in before the designated cut-off time (3:00 p.m.) will also receive Finisher's Medals for conquering the race course. Breakdown of cash prizes are as follows:

2nd Place Php25,000
3rd Place Php15,000
4th Place Php10,000

Entry Fees:
