Arts is definitely part of the Filipino Heritage. Visual Arts is one of the fields were Pinoy’s skill and passion for the arts is well showcased. On the occasion of the 428th foundation celebration of the province of Cagayan, dubbed as “Aggao Nac Cagayan”; the art pieces of the locals were highlighted.
The 3rd Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Visual Art Exhibit showcased the many art pieces by local artists from Cagayan and the nearby provinces of Isabela and the Cordilleras.
Art pieces made from scrap materials showcased the creativity of the people while paintings on different canvass depict the inspiration, thoughts and life of the locals. Earthen jars and pots are strong evidences that Filipinos are creatively resourceful, while wood carvings are exceptional as well. Colorful accessories of the locals were also showcased.
The exhibit, spearheaded by the Kalinawa Art Foundation in partnership with the Provincial Government of Cagayan and the Cagayan Museum and Historical Researh Center aim to bring the magnificence of the Arts of the local to all the visitors and the younger generation, that may be inspired to love and appreciate more the arts.
The exhibit was held at Pasea Recie Mall, in Rizal St., tuguegarao City from June 25 – July 1, 2011.
