Dagkot Festival  - a week long celebration of Cabadbaranons in honor to our Patron Saint “Nuestra Señora Candelaria” fiesta celebration come February 2, 2011. As a tradition, the highlight of the festival is the street dancing competition more popularly known as the “Dagkot Street Dancing Competition” which had its concept taken from the City’s religious tradition; “Dagkot” is a vernacular word which means “to light”. With the City’s huge influence of Christianity, the word “Dagkot” is a traditional religious practice of showing praise, thanksgiving and well-wishin. It is belived that the lighting of a candle is a Christian act of offering our aspirations and lifting up our prayers to God.

This is City’s way of returning the good favors, praises and glory to our Almighty God the goodness and blessings He has been showering to the people and the City of Cabadbaran. With all the challenges and adversities that we have been facing all this years, our sorrows and misfortunes, our joy and victory from trials, the Cabadbaranons never gives up and we never surrender and we do not move back in all the challenges of life.
