On June 24, devotees in the town of Aliaga in Nueva Ecija province in central Luzon visit people’s homes, dressed in dry banana or coconut leaves and smeared with mud.

At each home, they are given candles or gifts to be offered to the saint. The “mud people� then gather at the village church and give thanks to the saint for blessings received.
